Introducing Tony King, Smile IT’s New General Manager

The last few years have brought significant growth to Smile IT, the success of which is down to our exceptional leadership team. It’s been a period of progress and improvement, and they’ve navigated us through it like the forward-thinking pro’s they are.

We’ve become adept at embracing and adapting to change, using it as a launchpad to fuel our advancement. The most recent change comes in the makeup of the leadership team itself – after years of steady and committed guidance, our General Manager Glen Scott has stepped back from his duties as captain of the ship.

Glen has been instrumental in turning Smile IT into the established and trusted technology partner it is today. His calm demeanour and ability to assess challenges and opportunities have helped us evolve and thrive in the dynamic tech landscape. We’ll be forever grateful for his patient, insightful and innovative leadership, and we’re very excited that he’ll continue his relationship with Smile IT in a consultative capacity.

Nobody is more capable of filling Glen’s big shoes than Tony King. Tony’s been heading up our IT Consulting department for the past year and brings to the table over 25 years of experience in IT leadership. His knowledge and experience have already helped shape the direction Smile IT is moving for the future, and we’re confident his astute perspectives and enthusiasm will guide us to great heights in the years to come.

With a long career in IT covering the mining, medical, marine, SaaS and pharma industries, Tony has built a reputation for driving strategic growth and steering high-performance teams. His character and leadership style perfectly aligns with the values and culture of Smile IT – he simply ‘gets us’ and what we’ve developed here! Like us, he prioritises relationships, customer service, accountability and the drive to go above and beyond in everything we do.

Tony has hit the ground running in his new role as GM, with a list of strategic goals including enhancing our service offerings and operational efficiencies. His hands-on approach is already benefiting our team and clients. We’ve no doubt his collaborative and energetic approach will keep us innovating, keep us improving and keep us at the forefront of industry standards.

Tony’s (pictured above, with Peter) positive brand of leadership will undoubtedly build on Glen’s (pictured below) legacy, and we’re excited to see his vision for the future of Smile IT play out.
