THE ANTHROPIC STORY
Anthropic was founded in 2021 by former members of OpenAI. The focus was to build a safe and honest AI platform that was beneficial by design.
Anthropic didn’t try to win any feature races. Instead, they invested in understanding how LLMs behave and how to make them trustworthy enough to deploy inside real organisations.
The result? Claude. An AI tool that is helpful, reasons carefully, handles complex documents, coding and workflows and operates within clear boundaries. CLAUDE PARTNER NETWORK
The Claude Partner Network launched in March 2026. It’s a formal programme designed by Anthropic to assist organisations that help businesses identify where Claude can provide value and then implement it.
This is not a reseller arrangement. It’s about helping businesses get genuine value from AI, with the backing and support of Anthropic.
Smile IT is an enrolled member of the Claude Partner Network, which gives us direct access to Anthropic’s implementation resources, best practices, and guidance. This helps us build capability within our own team, which we pass on to our clients.

CLAUDE AND MICROSOFT COPILOT
Copilot and Claude are not competing for the same job. Copilot is built into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem – it works across your emails, documents, and Teams conversations within your Microsoft tenancy. It boosts the productivity of the tools that your team already uses.
Claude comes in when heavier lifting is required – where work has been neglected because it’s too time-consuming or inconsistent to do manually. You’re not doubling up if you implement Claude, because it’s covering different ground.
Our team will help you work out which tool belongs where. Some Claude features can be accessed in Copilot through CoWork too.
