Introducing the refreshed Smile IT, SmileTel and Smile Industrial brands
If you’ve visited any of our websites lately, you may have noticed a few changes. Over the past few weeks, we’ve refreshed the branding for Smile IT, SmileTel and our newest division, SmileIndustrial. You’ll see new logos, new websites and a cleaner look across all three websites.
Below we’re going to explain why we’ve made this branding update, and what the three Smile divisions each do.
The Reasons Behind the Update
Smile IT started in Brisbane two decades ago. Since then, we’ve grown from an IT support business into a team of more than 70 specialists working across managed IT, business telecommunications and industrial connectivity.
Our branding reflected a much smaller business. It was time to bring it up to date and give each division a clearer role, making it easier for you to find the right team for the job.
We’ve recently moved into a larger office, too. With our physical space changing, it felt like the right time to give our websites a fresh look as well.
What Hasn’t Changed
Everything that affects how you work with us stays in place:
- The same team, based at our new office in Tingalpa (1/20 Graystone Street)
- The same support arrangements you have with us today
- Our ISO 27001 certification and commitment to information security
There’s nothing you need to do. Your services continue as usual. The Smile personality and the people you deal with haven’t changed either!
Three Brands, One Team
As Smile IT has grown, so has the range of work we do. What started as IT support now spans business telecommunications and remote connectivity for some of the toughest environments in the country. Rather than squeeze all of all under one name, we’ve given each area its own brand, with a team focused entirely on it.
Smile IT: managed IT services
Smile IT remains the core of the business. We provide managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, AI consulting, IT consulting and virtual CIO services for businesses across Australia. That’s backed by 24/7 monitoring and a responsive Brisbane helpdesk.
SmileTel: business phone, internet and mobile
SmileTel is our telecommunications division that offers cloud phone systems, mobile plans on the Telstra network, Microsoft Teams calling, SIP trunks, business internet with 4G failover and CCTV. SmileTel aims to get the best possible business network at your address. Our relationships with nine different carriers help us do this.
SmileTel has also introduced AI voice assistant services. You can give it a try: call 1300 175 636 and Ava, our AI receptionist, will answer our live business line and put you through to the right person.
Smile Industrial: remote IT, connectivity and monitoring
Smile Industrial is our dedicated mining support division. It’s the newest of our brands, but it brings together over ten years of remote connectivity experience. The team is focused entirely on the needs of mine sites and industrial operations, concentrating on two areas:
Managed services for mining and other remote sites: A dedicated Australian helpdesk, 24/7 incident response and proactive monitoring across both IT and OT environments. That means one accountable team, whether the issue is a laptop in the site office or a sensor on a conveyor.
Connectivity projects: We design, build, and support the networks mine sites depend on. This includes:
- Underground connectivity using kinetic mesh and leaky feeder networks
- Surface and pit networks across ROM pads, workshops and haul routes
- Satellite, Starlink and bonded links for exploration camps and remote infrastructure
- Private LTE and long-range communications
- Towers, huts, SKIDs and solar platforms built to suit each site’s power constraints
The Smile Industrial technicians hold Standard 11 Queensland Mining Induction, so they can be on site without delay. They’ll put together solutions designed for dust, vibration, heat and distance from day one. Smile Industrial also supports remote monitoring of field assets, cybersecurity for OT environments and industrial field services, with qualified technicians deployed directly to site if required.
