Technical Account Manager
Location: Tingalpa, QLD

Based in our Tingalpa office, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the trusted advisor to customers – someone who can listen deeply, translate business needs into technical solutions, and confidently guide clients forward.About the Role:
As a Technical Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in growing Smile IT by:
- Developing strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers
- Identifying opportunities to deliver meaningful technology solutions
- Working closely with our technical teams to design, quote, and deliver the right outcomes
- Acting as a customer advocate, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and professionally
This is a sales-led role where you combine commercial drive with a consultative mindset, helping customers make smart decisions, backed by a capable, supportive internal team.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Present Smile IT’s products and services with confidence and clarity
- Run Discovery conversations and Technical Business Reviews to understand customer needs across their business
- Build trust through education, transparency, and follow-through
- Act as the bridge between customers and internal team
Solution Design & Technical Collaboration
- Design and quote tailored technology solutions
- Collaborate with Technical Solutions Consultants to shape the right approach
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Smile IT’s products and services
Sales & Growth
- Drive revenue through new customer acquisition, upsell, and cross-sell
- Balance short-term opportunities with long-term account growth
- Position Smile IT as a strategic partner, not just a service provider
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate CRM records (Halo) for customers and prospects
- Complete assigned tasks and tickets in line with internal standards
- Work within Smile IT policies and procedures
What You’ll Bring:
Experience & Capability
- A min 2 years’ experience in IT Account Management, Technical Sales, or Managed Services
- Strong understanding of technology trends and IT services
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, relatable terms
Skills & Attributes
- Clear, confident communicator who builds credibility quickly
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Commercially minded, with a genuine interest in helping customers succeed
Additional Requirements
A valid Blue Card is desirable. In the absence of one, successful applicants will be required to undergo a police check.
